The ability to bring stations in at a strong signal is the reason i had i stay with the same brand. The buttons now light up in the dark which was a great addition. Just a really nice all around radio. This was not my first grundig, after many years of usage, I essentially wore the previous radio out. the G5 has many technological improvements, including easy usability.
I may try calling ETON to see if they can explain the alarm settings. Bought this as an am/fm radio that could be used as a clock radio on batteries. Reception is very good on FM; but the incomprehensible alarm instructions make it useless for my intended purpose.
Cant think of anything i dont like other than the sound but its a small radio and i was not expecting alot of bass. I left the protective film on for just that purpose. When it becomes my end table radio I will take it off.
There is no mention of this anywhere in the packaging, but it can fairly easily be peeled back to reveal a pristine (unscratched) surface by the proud new owner. this is a good little radio.good sound and well made, and the knobs seem to be solidly attached to the radio, which is more than you can say for most similar products. As to the matter of the scratches, the display comes with a protective film overlayed.
Does anyone know. I felt quite gypped. Has anyone else had similar problems occasionally from AMAZON. I shipped it back and am now waiting for my refund.
I ordered this item new from AMAZON. I have ordered a few electronic products before from AMAZON without a problem. I am not sure if this is a problem with AMAZON or perhaps a distributor they use for this specific product. I was dismayed to find that the display screen had many, many scratches on it, both superficial and deep.
I will buy it at a local store or try another online merchant. I think I will be extremely reluctant to order any more electronic products or for that matter anything costing a substantial amount (>$100) from AMAZON again. It is hard for me to believe that this product was not used or refurbished at some point. The package was sent from the AMAZON center in Allentown, PA.
